The Yangon Memories video is full of sights and sounds in Yangon along with the faces of many friends we met on our last visit.

My latest video has been made for my friend, mentor and fellow traveller around beautiful Myanmar. Since 2000 we have travelled hundreds and hundreds of miles mostly by road but occasionally by train and by plane around the country, the birthplace of my father which was his home from 1928 until 1963 when he came to the UK. The purpose of our 5 trips together was to visit the Anglican Church of the Province of Myanmar in a number of remote locations and enjoy a little adventure or two.

On 1st January 2019 flew out of London Heathrow to join the silver jubilee celebrations of the founding of the Taungoo Diocese and retirement celebrations Bishop John Wilme followed by the enthronement of the new Bishop of Taungoo. It is my intention to create a series of videos from my static photo's for my friend Joanna and other friends to enjoy to remind us of what I sadly feel was our last major adventure abroad.

The street sounds to accompany the pictures will be familiar to everyone who has been Yangon. They are described as "Early morning in Rangoon, Myanmar. Birds sing, people walk down the street, a temple bell sounds." - listening to the sounds I am reminded instantly of the country that I have become familiar with and have grown to love despite of all the difficulties that have troubled it over the last century or more.
