China curbs drone exports over 'national security concerns'

China will place export controls on some drones and drone-related equipment from Sep 1, so as to "safeguard national security and interests" amid rising tensions with the United States over access to technology. Beijing has raised concerns that easily accessible commercial drones are being used for military purposes, particularly by Russia and Ukraine.
