2015 KTM 690R Countershaft Sprocket Swap - Put the 'ENDURO' back with a 14T

Another real time tutorial of a modification to a 2015 KTM 690R Enduro ABS, as I learn (with you) how to work on this model. I'll be swapping the 15 tooth shock absorbing countershaft sprocket for a solid 14 tooth sprocket to make this bike more trail worthy while going slow over and picking my way around rocks and other obstacles. If I have to pull in the clutch a lot, I have a tendency to stall the motor in the most inconvenient places. The lowest speed right now is 12 mph at idle in 1st gear. My 2014 KTM 500XC-W goes 4 mph at idle. So did my 2001 Suzuki DRZ400S, after sprocket changes. We end up with a 6 mph idle speed in 1st. The bike should still hit 100 mph at 7500 rpm. ...and it wheelies better now, as if it needed any help. :o) If you think 1st gear is too lively for you now, just start in 2nd gear, until you need to putter. If all you care about is riding your 690R 'Enduro' on the street or back country roads, stay with your 15T, but if you bought this bike because it was an 'ENDURO' then I recommend the 14T. BTW, my friend Ron and I bought 16T sprockets as well for extended road trips and better gas mileage. We'll see how that goes. I don't think taller gearing will make the ride better as the knobbies on the US models are noisy at 55 mph. Different tyres would be needed to really take advantage of the 16T.
