Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is the eighth studio album by British rock band The Beatles. Released on May 26, 1967 in the United Kingdom and June 2 in the United States, it immediately became a huge commercial and critical success, remaining at the top of the United Kingdom album charts for 27 weeks and 15 weeks at number one in the United Kingdom. U.S. At the time it was released, the album was acclaimed by the vast majority of critics for its innovation in music production, writing and graphic design, and for creating a bridge that divides popular music and legitimate art, as well as giving a musical representation of generation of his time and contemporary counter-culture. Time magazine called him "a historic development in music progress" and the New Statesman praised his elevation of pop music to the level of art.
