VGS4-NAG2 FBS4 TCU Setting to Virgin State and Personalization Using AVDI and ABPROG!

Описание к видео VGS4-NAG2 FBS4 TCU Setting to Virgin State and Personalization Using AVDI and ABPROG!

Hello, friends!

Today I am going to show you a unique tool - the MN035 license for setting to virgin state and personalisation of VGS4-NAG2 FBS4 Transmission Control Units via ABPROG. This software works with AVDI and a few cables, and it is designed to solve all your problems adapting this type of TCU!

It is essential to connect to the modules correctly. For this purpose, follow the instructions and wiring diagrams in the FBS4 Manager User Manual, you will find a link below.

First of all, before virginisation and personalisation, I connect to both TCUs via diagnostics using the CB011 Mercedes-Benz Cable for EZS, 7G Tronic and ISM/DSM and read their FBS4 Info. Pay attention to the modules' software versions. If they differ, I recommend you set the original TCU's software version to the replacement one. It is done by the Program button, you will see in the video.

Then, I proceed to cut the TCUs open and subsequently save their FBS4 data to a file.

Cutting the modules is a delicate task. I cut the plastic cover of the original TCU open very carefully using a sonic sabre. Then I proceed to solder my custom cable solution to the TCU's PCB. Afterwards, I connect all the rest of the hardware, and go to the FBS4 Manager to save the original FBS4 data to a file.

Make sure your ABPROG programmer is updated with the latest firmware.
I cannot stress this enough, follow the FBS4 Manager User Manual! You will find the procedure much easier if you do not guess, but simply go step by step.

When you are ready with the connection, press "Save" to read and save FBS4 personalization data! Do that with both modules: Read and Save the FBS4 data of both the original and the replacement TCU. Once you are ready with reading and saving the data from the original TCU, cut open the replacement TCU, connect to it to read and save its data.

After that, proceed to press "Virgin" to set the replacement VGS4-NAG2 TCU to virgin state. Finally, press "Personalize" to personalize the module on bench. Use the FBS4 data file from the original TCU to personalize the replacement one. And it is done!

At the end of the video, you can see me glue the cut out piece of the replacement TCU back on the cover using aluminum thermo tape (+150 C) and oil-resistant glue. This is a working solution, I do not state it is the only right one, but I know it works.

So, yes, the magic is real! I know, opening the module is not exactly a piece of cake, but it is the only way to personalise VGS4-NAG2 Transmission Control Units! The software is super easy to work with, you have a few steps to take, and all you Mercedes-Benz gurus out there should have no problem completing the procedure. It will make you a star, trust me.
