Android has a number of ways to prevent applications from being launched. I have previously done video showing how we can uninstall system apps using a simple ADB command. This command can be done from a computer or it can be executed on the device with the help of the LADB application.

I've also shown that you can go into the App Info page in the Settings to outright disable an application entirely.

Both methods prevent an Android application from running but there's another way this can be set up, as well. In today's video I want to show you how to block an application from being launched using the Digital Wellbeing application and its built-in timer feature.

The first things we'll need to do is open up the Digital Wellbeing app. This can be done through the app drawer if you see it there, but it could also be present in the Settings of your device as well.

Once opened, tap the Dashboard option and then select the "Show all apps" drop down that you see here on the screen.

Here you should see most of the applications that are installed on your device. Now, you can go through this list and find the apps that you want to block from being launched.

Now select the App Timer option and set this to 0 hours and 0 minutes.

You will likely see the app icon go gray to indicate that it is unable to run in the background. This will also prevent the Android application from being launched manually too. Similar to how things are blocked when you've booted the smartphone into Safe Mode.

So if you aren't a fan of the command prompt and would like to avoid using ADB, this method is another option for you to choose from when you want to block an Android application from starting up on your device.
