Re-work of our Bathroom in Jute Earth-bag Home using Araish Lime Plaster - Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu
Araish (Arayash) Lime Plaster is a Smooth, Glossy finish, Water resistant plaster used in the exterior and interior of traditional Haveli’s (mansions) of Rajasthan. Frescos using Natural colours were done on top of Araish Lime Plaster.

Sardarshahar is a city in the heart of Thar desert famous for grand Haveli (traditional mansions) with Frescos (paintings).
Lime was the main material used in Haveli for foundation, walls, roof, flooring & finishes.
Different Natural plasters using Lime is seen in these Haveli, like Thappi, Lohi, Araish, and Frescos on Araish Plaster.

Indian Araish Lime Plaster is water-proof and has many similarities with Moroccan Tadelakt Plaster, maybe because both have originated from places along the Silk Route.
