A new word entered the English language: Zoombombing. Bugs and vulnerabilities gave hackers multiple ways to steal login credentials and work around what was supposed to be end-to-end encryption.

Poor encryption practices were responsible for the "Zoom Hack" of 2020. Zoom has come a long way since 2020, but encryption issues are not limited to Zoom. Hackers are increasingly pernicious, and data breaches across all industries are common. But the good news is that even the average computer user has tools available to detect encryption issues.

In this "how-to" webinar, participants will learn how some encryption issues may be detected using tools available and easily used by the average computer user. It is presented by Dr. Rick Hansen, a researcher, and professor at Capitol Technology University. Dr. Hansen is a frequent presenter at DEFCON—the world's largest hacker convention—and other cybersecurity conferences, focusing on vulnerability analysis and risk mitigation.
