Watching Stevie Ray Vaughan perform, it was obvious he was destined to become one of the greatest talents ever to emerge from the Texas music scene. He was taking off in a big way at this point in his career. After the interview, I drove him to sound check at Sam Houston Coliseum in the HVUSA van which, only had two seats. His PR man, Charles Comer, sat in the passenger seat and Stevie sat on the floor between us. He was serene, totally in the moment, calmly discussing what needed to be done before the show. And what a show it was. Three years later he was was gone, taken away much to soon. This segment aired on Hit Video USA January 18, 1987.
