Update: I am steadily replacing this long video (with poor sound quality) with several shorter videos discussing specific topics. As explained in the video about ‘Reading Romanesque fonts’ I now think the font at Thorpe Arnold depicts a ‘soldier of Christ’ and not St Michael.
