Teguar’s Tom Poplawski and Jonathan Taylor (JT), explain how we build customized computer solutions and OEM/ODM devices, with an example of one of our custom computer solutions. OEM is an Original Equipment Manufacturer, while ODM is an Original Design Manufacturer. Most of the time, Teguar’s product portfolio has what customers need, sometimes, customers require a modification or upgrade, and other times, they require a completely new and different product. In this case, we start an OEM/ODM project.
For the computer in this video, our customer needed a reliable outdoor computer with customized specs. To meet the project requirements, we eliminated unneeded IOs, combined PoE and USB into a single cable, added a 2D barcode scanner, built a customized IO cover and mounting solution, increased the display brightness and added optical bonding for sunlight readability, and customized an Android OS.
For any customized project, whether it's a minute change, or OEM/ODM project, we work through project requirements with you. We consider your budget, functional, and regulatory requirements.
