A first review of the Chinese MX-210V Mini lathe (16"×8") 750w brushless motor. Mine was badged as Orion Motor Tech.
I think these are also sold under various names such as Crenex, Vevor, etc. And I think these are generic lathes, possibly updated by some suppliers. Available on Ebay & Amazon, Aliexpress etc.

Video contents:
purchase parameters, description of packaging issues, cleaning & setting up, dealing with issues of poor assembly & a design flaw.

Is there an issue with the newer lathes, motor controllers out of the factory ??? This guy seems to think so:

I finish with some tips on critical work that really needs doing before use (the design flaw! ) requiring a few simple mods.
Then I check the chuck alignment.
This was supposed to be a single review but I have had more issues to discuss:
Part 2 of the review - motor magnets issue    • Chinese  Mini lathe review part 2(of ...
Part 3 of the review - more quality control issues:    • Chinese mini lathe review part 3(of 6...
Part 4 - motor cooling hack    • Chinese Mini Lathe review part 4 (of ...

IMPORTANT as I suspected, when I first used the lathe after a while the headstock bearings started to run dry, so mine were clearly not lubricated with grease, so make sure you check or get some grease into them straight away!!

First main use of my new lathe:    • prosthetic repair part 2 (of 2) Repla...

The chuck is actually MT5 (not 3)!!
