Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service | EXTREMELY RARE 54' Mercedes Atego Command Unit with a BRAND NEW Pumping appliance from Northwich and the RARE 53' MAN TGA Water Carrier arriving on the scene of a MAJOR incident on the 31st of August 2025 at 18:48/18:50!

This incident was declared a Major Incident after an assistance message was put forward requesting 8 Pumping appliances and Aerial Ladder Platform, a water carrier and a command unit. This incident was a fire involving 2 detached bungalow style properties well alight while firefighters protected a third two storey detached property from spreading.

A statement from Cheshire Fire and Rescue at the beginning of the incident read : "Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are working in sectors to tackle a large fire with hose reel jets, which is affecting two properties. Two are well alight, while a third is being protected by firefighters who are using covering jets to prevent further spread. | There is a large emergency service presence at the scene. | Residents are advised to close their windows and doors due to the large amount of smoke. | Station Road has been closed by Police - please avoid the area and respect the cordons."

at the height of the incident the attendance was as follows :
Nine fire engines from Alsager, Congleton, Macclesfield (x2), Crewe (x2), Lymm, Northwich and Middlewich.
The aerial ladder platform from Lymm.

However, the incident was scaled down while firefighters continue to bring the fire to a close throughout the night.
