Halo Wars: Complete Soundtrack #24 - Bonus (Trailers & More)

Описание к видео Halo Wars: Complete Soundtrack #24 - Bonus (Trailers & More)

This is a little bonus soundtrack video for Halo Wars consisting of music from every Halo Wars trailer I could find, as well as other miscellaneous tracks of interest. If I've missed any trailers here (I believe I was pretty thorough), then feel free to list them in the comments and I may make a follow up video.

All music composed by Stephen Rippy, Kevin McMullan, Christopher Field, Rumble Head & Josh Powell.

00:00 Trailers.

All the music used in every single notable Halo Wars trailer and piece of promotional material. Dark Empire was composed by Chris Field for the X-Ray Dog library. Scald was composed by Rumble Head. Biohazard was composed by Josh Powell. The track "X-06" was the second of two tracks in the Halo Wars OST composed by Kevin McMullan, the Audio Lead on Halo Wars (it even includes a part of Under Your Hurdles, the other track Kevin McMullan composed for the OST), and is the second time in the Halo series that a piece of trailer music would make it onto the official OST.

Much of the music used in the E3 2007 demo I had to piece together and reconstruct using the official OST, and most of it is accurate except for the section of De Facto The Matter that plays during the Scarab fight at the end of the demo, as that uses a percussion-only version of De Facto The Matter that, far as I know, is cut content and has never been released in any format. I tried using an AI vocal remover once more to create a low quality version, but it's so low quality and barely audible that even I can't bring myself to release it. As such, and rather than leave it out entirely, I've tried my best to reconstruct it using what we've got.

18:49 Spirit of Fire (alpha).

This is the music that plays whilst on the main menu of the Alpha "Sway" build of Halo Wars, dated 21 February 2008. It is an early work-in-progress version of the Spirit of Fire track that would eventually make its way into the final game. Most notably, this version of Spirit of Fire's main choir uses the choir of Halo CE's Halo Theme as a placeholder, and I really like how it's used here. The prominence of the original Halo Theme in this version likely makes it the version of the track that test audiences said was "too familiar", prompting Stephen Rippy to recompose the track to be more unique while still capturing that Halo feel.

Personally I feel like he nailed it, but I also really like how the Halo CE choir is incorporated in this version.
