The Central Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (CDHM), established in 1987 at Tribhuvan University's Kirtipur Campus, offers MSc and PhD programs in Meteorology and Hydrology. Over 200 graduates have excelled in academia, government, and private sectors. Its BSc in Meteorology began in 1973 at Trichandra Campus.

CDHM focuses on research and training in hydrology, meteorology, and climate science, vital for agriculture, water resource management, disaster mitigation, tourism, and aviation, especially amidst climate change. The curriculum integrates theory, fieldwork, and practical skills in areas like weather forecasting, water resources, climate change, and numerical modeling.

Vision: To be a leading institution for hydrospheric and atmospheric sciences in the region.
