After long negotiations, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin
Netanyahu inched closer to gaining parliament's approval for his
1998 budget.
The Knesset will vote all day on Wednesday (31/12), racing to
meet a midnight deadline.
The change of heart among several members of parliament followed
all-night negotiations between the prime minister and the
Yisrael ba-Alyia party and the far right Moledet party.
Netanyahu promised Moledet a budget increase for some of the
settlements of the West Bank and Gaza strip.
