For over three decades, I've immersed myself in the field of FOOD SAFETY, adopting roles such as Author, Professor, Advisor, Consultant, and Speaker. Each position has presented its unique set of challenges and rewards, enriching my food safety journey.

My career is anchored in amplifying AWARENESS about food safety and mitigating the failures that compromise public health. This journey has allowed me to become an ALLY, collaborating with courageous stakeholders—including consumers, industry leaders, policymakers, and more. Together, we've forged alliances aimed at protecting our food supply, advocating for science-based policies, and ensuring that every voice is heard.

As an ADVOCATE, I've worked tirelessly to instigate positive changes in food safety policies and regulations. My commitment, however, transcends professional boundaries. The personal loss of my son to E.coli has imbued me with a profound sense of responsibility—not only as a father finding meaning in loss, but also as an ACTIVIST ensuring that the food industry recognizes the names and stories behind the statistics so that they understand the true burden of foodborne disease.

Embarking on this new chapter of my career, my determination is unwavering. Despite the numerous challenges that lie ahead, the strides we've made inspire me to continue championing for a safer future. It's a future where fewer families endure the pain of an empty seat at their table—a pain caused by mostly preventable food safety failures.
