For today’s Three Sounds reel we’re taking a look at the Fuzz Lands from @wonderfulaudiotechnology. The Fuzz Lands is based on classic FF & Bender style fuzzes and aims to capture how dynamic and responsive they can be to changes in your guitar volume or playing style. It’s built around a combination of JFET, Germanium, & Silicon transistors, with toggles to fine tune the sound to your needs.

The Fuzz Lands has Volume and Fuzz knobs, there is a ton of volume on tap and the fuzz control sounds fantastic across the entire sweep. You can dial in lower gain drive sounds all the way up to thick wooly fuzz tones.

The trio of toggle switches are what unlocks the Fuzz Lands versatility. From left to right you have Roots, which toggles between vintage and modern modes. In the modern setting, a jfet gain stage is introduced before the circuit that helps saturate the transistors and can help push the fuzz into that nasty gated fuzz territory.

The Earth toggle adjusts the input frequency range, in the up position the tone is much tighter, great for overdriven sounds or leads that need to cut through. In the down position you get the much thicker textures that are common in classic fuzz circuits.

And lastly, there’s the Nature toggle. This controls the voltage feedback of the transistors. Up gets you gated, spitty fuzz tones, Middle is smooth and overdriven, and Down gets you those classic Bender style fuzz tones.

There are plenty of possible combinations with the controls and I don’t think I came across any that I didn’t like. Thank you WAT for sending this to be a part of the series.
