Описание к видео What Did They Really Find in This 4,500 Year Old City? | Konar Sandal

For centuries, locals in southeastern Iran have called a place “Hind-e-Kushak” — Little India.
But why would a desert region in Iran carry a name that literally means Little India?
In this documentary investigation, we explore the ancient site of Konar Sandal, part of the broader Jiroft Civilization, a Bronze Age culture dating back nearly 4,500 years. Archaeologists excavating this region have uncovered urban architecture, trade goods, craft techniques, and material culture that closely resemble patterns known from the Indus Valley Civilization.
Was this coincidence? Trade? Cultural exchange? Or something deeper?
We examine:
• The archaeology of Konar Sandal (Jiroft)
• Bronze Age Iran and its urban development
• Indus trade networks across Mesopotamia and the Iranian plateau
• The presence of zebu bulls, etched carnelian beads, and other Indus-style artifacts
• The Helmand Valley corridor and long-distance commerce
• Medieval accounts referencing Indian merchants in the region
• And what this means for the broader timeline of ancient civilizations
Serious archaeology has long shown that Indus artifacts appear in Mesopotamia, Assyria, and Egypt. But Jiroft raises a deeper question — not just about trade, but about civilizational interaction in the Bronze Age.
This is not a nationalist argument.
It is an archaeological investigation.
The goal is simple:
To understand how interconnected the ancient world truly was.
Because when you follow the material evidence — seals, beads, urban grids, trade goods — you begin to see a network stretching from the Indus Valley to the Iranian plateau and beyond.
And that changes how we think about ancient history.
