You will discover slope fields (also known as direction fields) by making the slope field for a simple but important type of differential equation.

Specifically, the video has three parts.

First, you will learn how to make a picture that represents the differential equation y'=2y. This picture is what we call a slope field.

Second, you'll learn how to use the slope field to sketch a solution to the differential equation y'=2y without having to determine a formula for the solution.

Third, you'll learn a new term that is used to refer to the graph of a solution to a differential equation.
