The choice of farming location is dependant on the size of the plot required and the fertility of the land. Higher is better. I stick to 10x10 fields to make it more manageable.

Once the farmers have tilled the land you will need to use the farmer maintenance action to clear weeds and reduce rockiness. get rid of as much as possible before setting up your crops.

Set crops to offset the fertility drop as much as you can. don't forget to use the compost yard to increase the fertility of the fields - I recommend spreading on the lowest value or rotating so all fields get an even "Spread".

Protect and guide your people as you forge a town from untamed wilderness at the edge of the known world. Harvest raw materials, hunt, fish and farm to survive. Produce crafted items to trade, consume, equip and fight with as you battle for your survival against the elements and outside threats.
