As calls increase for the world to protect at least 30% of the ocean, how can this goal be achieved? This webinar explores how two timely governance mechanisms can address marine conservation challenges: the UN High Seas Treaty, and the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR), which is holding its 39th annual meeting in late October, 2020. This panel brings together leading scientists and practitioners to discuss how these governance structures can be used to support the designation and implementation of marine protections.

The panel was moderated by Kristina Gjerde, Senior High Seas Advisor to IUCN’s Global Marine and Polar Programme.
