Speaking comfortably in public can be a serious challenge for most people. So the notion of raising a hand in class to ask or answer a question — or even the task of finding a welcoming table in the cafeteria — can be stressful for students who are returning to school after an extended stretch of remote learning. Fortunately, there are proven techniques to build confidence, engage listeners and make new friends. We invite students to join Sumedha Bahri, founder of Highest Speak — the premier destination for public speaking programs for young learners — to learn and practice the skills they need to confidently speak up this fall.

About Highest Speak
Highest Speak offers public speaking and communication classes, workshops, and private coaching for K-12 to eliminate the anxiety of public speaking EARLY. America’s academic system is focused on STEM and test-taking. Though this is commendable, there is a gap in teaching children public speaking, and even general communication skills in a social setting! These are key to succeeding in academia, careers, and even in their personal lives!

Highest Speak aims to fill this gap with a unique curriculum and philosophy based on play, creativity, authenticity, and mindfulness. Their goal is to produce well rounded, confident, and positive children who will carry their learned skills into adulthood.

Meet your instructor, Sumedha:
Sumedha Bahri is the founder of Highest Speak (for children) and Highest Speak-Ascend (for adults). In addition to being a public speaking and presentation coach for children and adults, Sumedha is a patent attorney, engineer, adjunct law professor, stand-up comic, public speaker, and a certified mindfulness coach for children. She has a B.S. in Biomedical/Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (Worcester, MA) and a J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law. Public speaking and teaching public speaking is her greatest passion. More than any of that, however, she is a mother to a hilarious nine-year-old boy and a rambunctious and defiant three-year-old daughter. She lives in Fairfax, VA, but is a hardcore Bostonian at heart.
