Welcome to fight 1 of 3 from the 2020 Te Puke Agricultural and Pastoral Show.

This fight is in support of our local heroes from the Te Puke Volunteer Fire Brigade.

On the left we have, "The Hose Runner," operating the champion Stupid Robot, "Goldie." Goldie was designed and built by Paul from Autohouse Te Puke.

Goldie is almost completely made from car parts. His head is an air duct from a car, his body is a glove box from a car and his arms and legs are a grill from a Mercedes Benz.

On the right we have, "Flick," piloting, "The Paper Plus Protector." The Paper Plus Protector was designed and built in part by Stuart from Paper Plus Te Puke.

The Paper Plus Protector boasts a rather massive head made from a shop vac, a body made from a vacuum cleaner cowling and some of his arm and leg sections are made from Nerf Guns.

Both the fighters are volunteer firefighters that give of their time to keep our community safe. The are totally heroes in my eyes.

They have set up a Give a Little page to help pay for the restoration and maintenance of a vintage fire engine they will be using for community events.

Stupid Robot Fighting League is a funny new sport from Te Puke, New Zealand.

In it's simplest form, two robots with no robotics are controlled by poles attached to their hands, feet and head.

They beat up the other robot. It's lots of fun. If one robot's head is removed it's counted as a knockout.

We hope to make you laugh. We hope to have fun.
