Can a shadow catch a fever? José Lourenço's short stories...

Civil-engineer turned writer José Lourenço has a very innovative approach to his writing. He explains here (during a talk at the BITS Pilani, Goa campus, Vasco on April 15, 2011) about how one gets the inspiration to craft creative writing. Or the "process" and the "act of creation", as he terms it. What is the genesis, or the seed of the idea, which emerges into a short story? This also serves as a very interesting introduction to his short stories -- Zemanuel (about an aged woman who refused to leave the home she lived in), Saibinn (set in the Catholic tradition of sharing a image of the Virgin Mary from village home to home), Higher Ground (vending fruits at the market in Margao), Bapo Kale's House (when villagers see an evacuation drill as an attempt to kidnap their children), The Fan (and what a sleepless mind imagines), Nach (do the bullocks know a secret in an area where they refuse to go?), Fever (a surrealistic, post-modern story about a man who's shadow gets a fever)....
