Ambient Bass Guitar Soundscapes // Relaxing Twitch Live Session // 10 January 2024 //

This is a recording of an ambient bass guitar livestream that I did on Twitch on January 10th, 2024. Overall the stream is very meditative, but you can expect some glitchy and spacey effects too during the jam. Nothing too weird or disrupting though, so no worries.

The bass I used in this performance has a Sustainiac pickup. This enables me to play endlessly sustained notes on all strings, leading to some interesting effects and sounds when used in combination with a volume pedal. The switches below the pickup are from left to right: gain boost, sustain switch, harmonics mode selection.

In this session I used Bitwig Studio 5.1 as VST host, and mapped track and looper controls to an Akai MPD218 pad controller.

Turnado by Sugar Bytes

A note about my playing in the video:
During the performance you see me play some notes every now and then that you won't hear in the music. That's because the volume pedal I'm using is turned off at that moment, while I'm auditioning some notes or licks that I came up with before I'm actually playing them with the volume pedal turned on. 😊
