DAR ES SALAAM: Hundreds of Simba supporters and football alumni kept showing up at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium to watch the African Football League (AFL) 2023 opening ceremony and game.

Simba played Al Ahly of Egypt in the opening leg of the eight team competitions.



Following their meeting which ended as a draw of 2-2, the two will square off on Tuesday of the following week in Cairo, Egypt for the rematch.



When the gates opened at 10 a.m., supporters flocked to the stadium, which can hold up to 60,000 spectators, and before noon, all of the tickets had been sold out.
