Описание к видео Politics, pollution & Delhi polls:Why Yamuna's dying a slow death | Shekhar Gupta with Soumya Pillai

Delhi’s lifeline, the Yamuna is now counted among the most polluted rivers in India, despite efforts over the years to clean it. Various political parties have promised to clean the river, but all have failed, as they continue to blame each other for the deteriorating state of the river. In fact, Delhi has contributed significantly to the pollution, even though the Yamuna flows through only 22 km of the capital, less than 2% of its total length.

In Episode 1599 of #CutTheClutter, ThePrint Editor-in-Chief Shekhar Gupta along with Senior Assistant Editor Soumya Pillai, who focuses on science & environment, looks at reasons behind Yamuna’s sorry state & discusses the politicisation of river cleaning programmes.
