The Ideal Daily Bar Prep Study Schedule

The best way to prepare for the bar exam is to complete and review practice questions from prior exams under exam-day conditions. Therefore, the ideal daily bar prep study schedule should consist of studying less and practicing more.

As a general rule, we recommend that for every 1 minute of time that you spend passively reviewing the law (e.g., reading outlines, listening to lectures, etc.), you should spend 2 minutes of time actively applying the law (e.g., writing practice essays, completing practice MBE questions, etc.). For example, if you plan on studying 9 hours in 1 day – you should spend 3 hours passively reviewing the law and 6 hours actively applying the law.

If you follow this daily schedule over the course of an 8 to 10-week bar prep study period, you are going to get so accustomed to taking bar exam questions, the bar exam itself will seem like just another day at the office for you!
