This saffron is of high aroma, dark color, long and thick thread which makes it different from the whole world. Kashmiri saffron is considered to be superior for medicine and spices. The scientific name of Kashmiri Saffron is "Crocus Sativus". It costs Rs 1 - 4 lakhs per kilogram.

It is mainly produced in Pulwama, Budgaon, Kistwar and Srinagar. It was produced in Kashmir around the first century BCE. Is born from Kashmiri saffron is produced at an average height of 1600 meters to 1800 meters above sea level, it is the only saffron grown in the world at such a height.
