Step #2: Use storytelling to connect with readers - by crafting stories that engage readers, it will cause them to read your content and stay on your website longer.

Storytelling is powerful... it's worked for centuries.

Step #3: Use Crazy Egg - Sometimes Google Analytics isn't enough. Crazy Egg is a tool that will show you how people engage with your website. From scrolling to mouse movements to video recordings... Crazy Egg is a visual analytics tool.

For example on my website, I have noticed that people are scrolling to the bottom before they reading my blog posts. They are reading my conclusions and from there they determine if they want to read the rest of the blog post.

Once I learned this I added conclusions to all of my blog posts. This helped increase my time on site.

Step #4: Use different types of storytelling to engage and connect with your visitors - from videos to audio files, your time on site will increase as these mediums create more engagement.

Step #5: Add images - use relevant images that convey the message you are trying to get across. Images draw people in and it breaks up your text blocks.
