The ULTIMATE ebike battery drain test. Watch me climb 3000 feet on the 1500w Volt DS by Amp Rides

Watch as I attempt to climb Santa Barbara's famed, Gibraltar Rock on our Dual Suspension Volt 1500 by Amp Rides. In this test I climb 3000 feet of elevation, draining the battery completely in under an hour while averaging 17 mph. This is what happens when you push the Volt's motor to its absolute limits on a sustained hill climb that required over 2000 watts of power at its steepest points.

The Volt DS in this test has a 1500W HT motor and a 52V/25Ah battery that would normally deliver between 40-80 miles of range in the most favorable conditions with nominal rider weight and flat, smooth terrain.

Our bike was outfitted with the Elite Package, which includes BMX style handle bars, Tektro Dorado quad piston brakes, a motorcycle style fork, an extra powerful, oversized headlight, pro palm cushion grips, and a hydrostatic carbon fiber finish on the frame. This package retails for $2899.
