How to Send Password Protected Email In Gmail

To send a password-protected email in Gmail, you must use its built-in Confidential Mode. When composing a new message, locate and click the lock and clock icon (“Toggle confidential mode”) on the bottom toolbar. In the window that appears, you can set an expiration date for the email. For true password protection, you must select the "SMS passcode" option. This ensures the recipient will receive a one-time passcode via text message, which they must enter to view the email's content. After clicking "Save," a blue banner will confirm your settings at the bottom of the draft. When you hit "Send," Gmail will prompt you to enter the recipient's mobile phone number for the passcode delivery. This method also prevents the recipient from forwarding, copying, printing, or downloading the email, providing an additional layer of security for sensitive information.
