What do I want to transmit with this ringtone?
Initially, I wanted to create an ambient song, but I somehow managed to make this project into something else.
The keys’ structure didn’t fit at all with an ambient theme. Relaxing and meditation music contains very long notes.
This is why I’ve repurposed this track into a modern house style.
The song is melancholic and simplistic. It was made for those that wanted to feel the harmony of the music.
This is the type of song that you might listen to in late autumn. Each and every sound gives a somewhat melancholic feeling.
The project sounds rich and it brings the listener into a special state. The first thing that comes to my mind when I think about this song is a cloudy day.
Do you know those days when you are just waiting for the rain? I’ve added those sensations in these musical notes.
It’s exactly that moment when nature cries. I hope that I’ve defined the feeling of this track quite well.
The colour of the emotion of the melodic theme fits with a cloudy autumn scenery. “Autumn ringtone” would be a better title for this track.
The sounds used by me are pretty close to the xylophone timbre. This type of timbre can be obtained by hitting a wooden piece.
These types of sounds contain percussive characteristics. They pretty much give more rhythm to the entire project because they contain transients.

How did I start the construction of this sweet melody?
The first step was to create a simple melodic line.
The minor keys are dominant, and I’ve also added some glissando effects.
This effect is used to create sad and melancholic states. Legato is another way that you can use in order to create sad melodic textures.
The second step is to create a chord progression, which proved to be quite an easy task because I just had to choose a good sound and insert a few chords at certain times.
The next thing that I did was take care of the lower frequencies. The bass line must be in sync with the chords.
My bass is made with only 3 sinusoids. The character of the bass is quite transparent in this composition.
The main problems that I’ve encountered were brought by the rhythm. This is why I had to choose the drums carefully in order to create some energy variation.
These energy variations are made by using different rhythm shades.
The usage of a rhythm that increases and decreases in intensity is a way of giving some life to the project.
The rhythm shades are different in each musical segment. This arranging technique gives a lot of dynamicity to the project.
You can dance on these chords considering that they fit in the dance music style.
As you may have noticed, I’ve added a few ambient textures.
Even further, the mix contains some harmony and support.
Background sound effects like white noise are also present. I’ve automatized the volume of this sound in order to obtain an energy variation.
