Join this intriguing conversation with our regional guest Peter Ivey and CPRI’ s Jenn Ward Clarke, on Thursday 15th October at 12pm, as we celebrate World Food Day 2020 the LIVE Living Room Session way!

Peter Ivey is a serial entrepreneur, a chef, writer/ author, speaker and food security activist. He is the Founder and President of Mission:FoodPossible, a not-for-profit organization that was created to educate and feed the food insecure. He is also the Founder and CEO of The Reggae Chefs®️, a culinary services company that uniquely fuses Jamaican food and cultural expression through customized events.

In March 2020, Peter also authored “Coronavirus: Get Outta Here!” One of the first children’s books on the Coronavirus pandemic. The book was selected as one of UNICEF’s resources to support families during the pandemic.

World Food Day is calling for global solidarity to help all populations, and especially the most vulnerable, to recover from the crisis and to make food systems more resilient and robust so they can withstand increasing volatility and climate shocks, deliver affordable and sustainable healthy diets for all, and decent livelihoods for food system workers. This will require improved social protection schemes and new opportunities offered through digitalization and e-commerce, but also more sustainable agricultural practices that preserve the Earth’s natural resources, our health, and the climate.

Come join Peter and Jenn on WIRRED’s LIVE Living Room Session, Special Edition, Thursday 15th October at 12pm as they explore how individuals and organizations are fighting to correct the imbalances in our food system; making a difference to reduce hunger, obesity, environmental degradation, loss of agro-biological diversity, food loss and waste and the lack of security for food chain workers.
