We’re just getting started! By now, you have watched the Video 1: Understanding the Histogram and Video 2: Getting The Perfect Exposure on Location and you’re getting to know your histogram. I hope you are also making some of your own images and watching that histogram move. You’ve got to get comfortable dancing with your histogram and the only way to do that is to practice making photographs with your histogram front and center.

With this bonus lesson, we are going to push the envelope with exposure situations that cannot be captured within your camera’s latitude. Usually these situations happen at sunset, when you are pointing your camera into the sun and you end up with a beautiful sky and a dark black silhouette. Too bad, because it was a great scene, but now it is a boring silhouette.

In this video, Handheld Portrait HDR, we will talk about High Dynamic Range exposures. We’re going to show you how to take an HDR portrait (hand held). And in our final video lesson, we will bring all of our exposures back into Lightroom and finish our dance with the histogram there.
