Five prestigious IFOY Award 2016 are granted to BYD, Crown, Jungheinrich and SSI Schaefer. More than 400 visitors witnessed the decision of the international jury. The margins were very tight this year and that was the main reason why Still and Toyota didn’t receive an Award this time. “Keep in mind that being nominated, indicates that you are a close winner too”, declares Anita Würmser, Executive chairperson of the IFOY jury.

This year IFOY awarded the 13 nominees in 5 different categories. In a tight finish, victory in the category “Counter balanced truck up to 3.5 tons” went to BYD with it’s ECB 18C electric forklift equipped with a lithium iron phosphate battery. Jungheinrich was lucky enough to win two awards. One in the category “Special vehicles” an EJQ 325 exclusively designed for Deutsche Bahn and the other one was granted to the EKX 516 narrow isle truck in the category “Warehouse truck highlifter”. Crown scored an award in the category “Warehouse truck lowlifter” with its RT 4020 pallettruck and finally first timer SSI Schaefer won an award in the category “Intralogistics Solution” with its Weasel AGV.
