Centre blocks 14 Pak-based apps for spreading terrorism | Ritam Unstoppable


Intensifying its crackdown against terrorism in the country, the Government of India, blocked 14 Pakistan based messenger mobile apps that were used by terrorists to disseminate information to Jammu and Kashmir.

The Central government blocked the 14 messaging apps that were mainly used by terrorists based in Kashmir to communicate with supporters, and on ground workers. Reportedly, intelligence agencies keep track of channels that are used by Over ground workers and terrorists to communicate among themselves. While looking into one such communication route, the intelligence agencies found that mobile application’s representative do not belong to India. Further, tracking down the activities of the app was also difficult.

Scroll- Following this, with some help from locals of the valley, the intelligence agencies prepared a list of such apps which pose a threat to national security and do not follow Indian laws. Some of the blocked apps are Crypviser, Enigma, Safewiss, Wickrme, Mediafire.
