世界のクラシック ギタリストが、アジアの代表曲として弾く曲が「"さくら" による主題と変奏曲」です。　その作曲家であり演奏者でもあるのが横尾幸弘です。　　現在、世界で多くの演奏者がユーチューブを介して演奏しています。　曲は和の旋律と新たな技法を取り入れて作曲されており、横尾独特の世界観を表現しています。
幼い頃、心を込め、涙ながらに歌っていたこの歌の感動は、大人になっても少しも変わることがない。　それをギターに移してみたが、発表とともにたちまちのうちに世界中で演奏されるようになった。
The theme and variations on "Sakura" is a song played by classical guitarists from around the world as a representative piece from Asia. The composer and performer is Yuquijiro Yocoh. Currently, many performers around the world are performing via YouTube. The song was composed by incorporating Japanese melodies and new techniques, and expresses Yocoh's unique worldview.
