Indian Railways is making rapid progress on the project to connect Srinagar to Delhi via a railway route. It's worth noting that in 1999, the Indian government initiated the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link as a national project to link the Kashmir Valley with the rest of India. This project was declared a national project in 2002, and the railway line from Baramulla to Srinagar to Banihal was inaugurated by 2013.

The rail route between Udhampur and Katra began operation in 2014. Subsequently, the construction of the 111-kilometer rail route between Katra and Banihal proceeded at a fast pace. The Katra-Banihal rail route is now in its final phase. However, the excavation work in rail tunnel T1 is still ongoing despite numerous challenges. The team is diligently working to expedite the project.

News Station editor Siddharatha personally inspected the progress of excavation within rail tunnel T1, portal 2, and reported on the latest developments. Stay tuned for further updates on this significant railway connectivity project. #katrabanihalrailwayproject #usbrl #TunnelT1 #indianrailways #SiddharathaEditorNewsStation
