ISA Detentions and Restrictions: From “Communists” to “Terrorists”

This was recorded at The AGORA, a civil society space on 10 September 2016. At that time, there were at least 133 Muslims who had been arrested and detained without trial under the Internal Security Act (ISA).
Zulfikar Mohamad Shariff, a Singaporean/Australian aged 44 and a PhD student in Australia was one of those detained. For the first time, the story of how Zulfikar was arrested is told by the speaker, Dr James Gomez.
The seminar discussed the history of the ISA, the constitutional challenges and the case of Zulfikar. Should the ISA be abolished?
