IWM Conference 2025 – Speaker Session by David Fisher‪‪@LantraSSC‬ – Launch of a New Assessed Training in Integrated Weed Management

With the updated UK Pesticides National Action Plan(NAP) published in March 2025, Lantra will launch an updated assessed training: Awareness of Integrated Weed Management to support NAP objectives of encouraging the uptake of Integrated Pest Management/ Integrated Weed Management (IPM/IWM) and raising awareness of knowledge. 

In this speaker session, David dived into details about this assessed training course. Designed for landscape operatives and decision-makers in the amenity sector, this training explores weed prevention, control methods, and best practices across various settings.

Lantra reviewed the Integrated Weed Management course as part of a broader update to their entire pesticide training suite. The revised course now offers a structured overview of weed management options, safe and responsible pesticide use, environmental considerations, and sustainable design principles for managing amenity spaces. The course also includes information on the latest legislation and supplement documents. Once upon completion, the learner will have a clear understanding of the list of actions, knowledge and how to implement a successful Integrated Weed Management operation scheme.
