The Connex 500 uses PolyJet 3D printing. The Connex 500 deposits layers of liquid photopolymer materials onto the print bed one layer at a time. Once each layer is deposited, the material is exposed to UV light, which hardens the layer. Another layer of liquid photopolymer material is deposited and exposed to UV light. This process repeats until the 3D model is complete.

Shore is a rubber-like material with 6 different gradients of pliability. Think of the gradients as a button that can be depressed contrasted with the rubber-like material of a car steering wheel.

Minimum Wall Thickness: 0.6 mm
Shore 27: The softest gradient of rubber. It is pliant, comparable to a rubber band.
Shore 40: The second softest gradient of rubber. Slightly less pliable than Shore 27.
Shore 60: It is pliable, but requires more pressure.
Shore 70: It is slightly pliant with pressure.
Shore 85: Much less pliant compared with Shore 27.
Shore 95: The hardest gradient of rubber. Similar to a car steering wheel.

There is another family of rubber-like material called Tango. The Tango family can be mixed for gradients like the Shore material. This material is suitable for no-slip or soft 3D models.

The Polypropylene-like Material suitable for snap-fit 3D models.

Transparent Materials are families of clear material that are suitable for prototype transparent parts.

High-temperature Plastic is suitable for advanced functional testing, hot air and water flow, static applications and exhibition modeling.

Rigid Plastic is strong and durable and provides high-resolution detail. Rigid Plastic comes in gray, black, white and blue. Rigid Plastic is ideal for accurate prototypes, including moving parts.
