Centered in Minneapolis Minnesota, and led by two of wrestlings greatest minds,Wally Karbo and Verne Gagne. Originally the Minneapolis territory of the National Wrestling Alliance, the then governing body of professional wrestling, the AWA would break away from the NWA after the NWA refused to crown Verne Gagne as world champion.
