"I mean, it's a big play. People use the scenes for acting class and auditions, you know, audition prep, whatever. So, um... It's really an actor's play. So, I think actors especially are excited about it and it's good writing.”

"I feel like when I'm in sort of my worst places, sometimes either you get sick or I've had some pretty bad injuries, things that you do out of internal chaos or, you know, so yes, the world currently is, we're in a rough place. I think we are inviting a lot of violence, or when people's mental states are off, anything can happen."

"That's one of the difficulties of the play, is to be able to delineate between 13, 18, and so on, literally every five years. It's something we have to craft. It happens through wardrobe, it happens through body language, it happens to speech patterns. A lot of it, Rajiv has helped us by writing these people in ways that feel like, okay, that the - that's the 13-year-old. There's like a boldness to him that's 13, or a kind of recklessness at 23. So it's - some of it's in the writing. And then we're going to say wardrobe. And also the scars will help people delineate a bit."

“I love Rajiv Joseph. I've been wanting to work with him forever. I love this play. Neil Pepe, I've known Neil Pepe for as long as I can remember and to be able to experience him as a director. You know also the themes of this play and the fact that these two people you get to see them over a 30-year span. And you meet them when they're children. And it kind of feels like I'm going back to like a very foundational part of being an actor."

“This work is literally studied in so many schools. I mean, right now we're at the Atlantic Theater Company, Atlantic School of Acting, and all of these young people love this play. They've all done scenes from this play, you know what I'm saying? So it stands on its own as a talking piece. To honor Rajiv is to really kinda get into the nooks and crannies of what he's laid and the foundation in which he's laid for us. I feel incredibly honored to step into his world.”

15. SOUNDBITE (English) Rajiv Joseph, actor – on working with another actor from ‘Succession’:
“Well, it's such an honor to be working with Nick Braun on this. He is a real comic genius, and I've really enjoyed watching him work with Kara Young, who's theater royalty. But yeah, obviously, ‘Succession’ has been this sort of source for a lot of plays coming out of it. And of course, I worked with Arian Moayed multiple times prior to ‘Succession’ and continue to work with him. He's one of my muses, I would say. And I look forward to the next time we get to do it. But if I could work with every actor from ‘Succession,’ than I would.”
