We had a long period of calm weather in Mid-July 2021 that led to ultra-clear blue oceans, water so clear that some Mackerel came in early and dined on very small whitebait fry.

Spoons - search 'spoon fishing' on Aliexpress and it's one of the first results, an excellent and cheap metal but the hooks they give you are trash, I ordered loads of the 65mm 13g and I consider this to be the PERFECT size for medium/large mackerel, and they cast very well too. I found a pack of 100 stick-on holographic 7mm flat eyes on ebay for another £2 to add to the attraction
