Dan Bigham Hour Record Video

Описание к видео Dan Bigham Hour Record Video

In this video, Dan Bigham and INEOS Grenadiers explain the important role CORE played in breaking the UCI hour record (Dan rode 55.548 km in that hour). Bigham says, “The CORE sensor has been pretty critical to all my preparations. It’s enabled me to both measure what happens during practice runs so I know what core temperatures I am hitting and need to be able to target in training, and it also enabled me to do heat training sessions and keep myself in the right zone, so I’m not cooking myself in training sessions, but I am training hard enough to get the thermal stimulus that I need.”

Ben Williams, Head of Performance Support, reported that when core temp rose by one degree Celsius, Dan’s efficiency dropped, resulting in a loss of 15–18 watts of power. He added, “That’s a critical success factor and that would mean you would fail” during the attempt. “We’ve used the CORE sensor and its technology to understand the thermal physiology of Dan and how that correlates with the attempt.”

CORE congratulates Dan and INEOS Grenadiers for this world record achievement. We are proud to support athletes in their never-ending quest to push the limits of human performance.
