Les premières lettres de chacun de ces mots mises ensembles donnent un nom à ce projet, dont le thème est le LOVE, l’amour, cet amour universel dont parle en autres John Coltrane. Au fur et à mesure que j’observe ce qui se passe autour de moi, que j’en apprends sur l’humanité et son histoire, ma conviction qu’essayer d’apprendre à nous accepter et nous aimer en tant que ce que nous sommes, pour plus d’égalité et moins de violences, avec douceur et humilité, se renforce. Je crois fort en l’idée qu’il y a une place pour chaque être de l’humanité sur Terre, et que, en s’unissant, on peut déplacer des montagnes. EVOL est le résultat d’une démarche de recherche à la fois introspective et collective. Comment s’intéresser à l’autre, lui laisser une place pour exister, expérimenter, s’exprimer, être traitée et vivre dignement. EVOL cherche à transmettre des émotions. Ce qu’on ne peut exprimer par les mots. Et pourtant, tout est parti de mes textes. Ce gros tas de mots, chaotique et très dense, sans que je sache quoi en faire pendant des années. Au moment où j’ai décidé d’inscrire ce matériel dans ma musique, le chaos a commencé à prendre une forme plus lisible et le fond de mon propos est devenu plus compréhensible. J’ai choisi de composer une musique qui soit au service de ces textes. Mettre le récit et la poésie à l’honneur, utiliser la dimension sonore des mots, proposer un discours d’amour et d’entraide. Chercher l’espoir dans un monde qui déborde, la paix dans un avenir incertain et assez flippant.

The first letters of each of these words together give a name to this project, whose theme is LOVE, the universal love spoken of by John Coltrane, among others. The more I observe what's going on around me, the more I learn about humanity and its history, the more I'm convinced that we need to learn to accept and love each other as we are, for more equality and less violence, with gentleness and humility. I believe strongly in the idea that there is a place on earth for every human being, and that, by uniting, we can move mountains. EVOL is the result of both introspective and collective research. How can we take an interest in others, give them a place to exist, experiment, express themselves, be treated and live with dignity? EVOL seeks to convey emotions. That which cannot be expressed in words. And yet, it all started with my texts. This big pile of words, chaotic and very dense, without me knowing what to do with it for years. The moment I decided to incorporate this material into my music, the chaos began to take on a more legible form, and the substance of what I was saying became more comprehensible. I chose to compose music that would serve these texts. To give pride of place to storytelling and poetry, to use the sound dimension of words, to propose a discourse of love and mutual aid.To seek hope in a world that is overflowing, peace in an uncertain and rather scary future.
