Jammu City ,winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir Union territory was established by a ninth century Raja ,some historian say that he ruled some 3ooo years ago.His name was Raja Jambu Lochan.He used to come here from Punjab area for hunting because it was Jungle .He was wonders truck when once he saw that a goat and a lion were drinking water at the bank of river at little distance from each other .He thought that nature wants him to do some tremendous work .An idea struck to his mind that nature directs him to settle a city here because nature has bestowed blessing upon this area .Here strong and feeble can live together in peace and harmony. So he ordered to build a city here .The goat and the lion can no longer be seen here but the walls, the soil,the roads and narrow paths breathe history and bear witness to the fact that a lion and a goat have lived here together centuries ago.The city has become symbol of peace and harmony
