George Skatzes (pronounced as: "Skates") is a prisoner on Ohio's death row who is innocent: the so-called evidence against him was based on testimony by other prisoners who had turned state-informants after the Lucasville prison uprising in 1993.

George was in prison on another false conviction for a murder he did not do, but a convicted criminal wanted out and gave the court false testimony on George.

It is very hard to fight in court for one's innocence in the USA: first of all, the prosecutors just want someone, anyone, convicted, secondly, when one is a pro se defendent, the courts hardly take the case seriously. Once convicted, appeals are very hard to win.
Innocence in the US justice system is not important.
We have to change this! Murderers are free while innocent people languish away in prisons forever or are killed by the state.
